DR. HANIFA MEZOUL

A.I.C.E.S.I.S. Permanent Representative To The United Nations . Hanifa Mezoui, Phd, has enjoyed a distinguished career with the United Nations tor The past 30 years. She served in a strategic leadership capacity with several UN entities. In the last ten of those years, she has been Chief of the NGO section of The Department Of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) where She has established an impressive record of accomplishments. The informal regional NGO Network (UN-NGO-Irene) was developed under her guidance as a critical channel for communicating key themes And programs between the U.N. and the NGO community, including marginalized groups In developing countries.

Since 1 March 2009, to date, she has been Designated As The Permanent Representative To The United Nations And ECOSOC Of The “international Association Of The Economic And Social Councils And Similar Institutions” (Aicesis), Igo In Observer Status With Ecosoc.

Ms. Mezoui Promotes The Un Development Agenda And Liaises With The Economic And Social Council Of The United Nations, (Ecosoc) And Encourages Ngos To Contribute To Un Interactive Dialogues And Thematic Debates For The 2030 Un Agenda And Promote The “sdg Acceleration Action”. She Monitors And Liaises With Other Relevant Un Entities, Ga, Unog, Unctad, Unitar And Un Departments, As Well As With Other International Organizations, Un Agencies, Funds And Programmes, Governments, Igos, Aicesis And Non-governmental Organizations.

Ms. Mezoui Taught At The Sciences Po Institute, Paris, France A Course Titled “the United Nations: From Theory To Practice” And Is A Liaison For The Institute For Their Internship Programme. She Lectures At “the Centre D’etudes Diplomatiques Et Strategiques” (Cdes), On The Un Global Development Agenda, Focusing On The Sustainable Development Goals And Ecosoc. She Is A Member Of The Convention Of The Independent Financial Advisors (Cifa) And Of The Technical Advisory Committee Of The “zayed International Prize For The Environment”, Dubai, Uae.

From 15 January 2010 To January 2011, She Was An Associate Fellow At Unitar Specializing On Mdg Training And Teaching And Has Been For Several Years The Secretary General Of The “association Culturelle Française” Of The United Nations.

 From September 2011 To September 2012 She Joined The Office Of The President Of The Sixty Six General Assembly As The Special Coordinator For The Third Committee And Civil Society.

From 2013 To 2018, She Was A Senior Advisor To The Un High Representative Of The Alliance Of Civilizations, H.e. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-nasser In Charge Of Humanitarian Affairs And Civil Society. Ms Mezoui Engaged The Alliance Of Civilizations As A Platform On Which The International Community Could Build Greater Understanding And Communication To Stem The Tide Of Intolerance And Misunderstanding.

Ms. Hanifa Mezoui Holds A Doctorate In French Linguistics, An Ma In French Literature, An Ma In Applied Linguistics And An Ma In Business Administration From The University Of Aix-en-provence, France.
