Children of War Foundation's Global Health Coalition strives to provide, develop, and scale transformative and sustainable solutions to accelerate access to equitable healthcare and medical education for all. Through our multinational and multisector programming and investments, we are dedicated to strengthening health systems, expanding access, and responding to humanitarian and disaster relief efforts. With a strong focus on leaving no one behind, we aim to unleash the impact and power of our coalition.

Children of War Foundation, in partnership with our implementors, has empowered underserved communities by providing surgical and medical care, medical education, and access to infrastructure. Our network, which comprises over 30,000 healthcare professionals, innovators, and educators from public and private entities, alongside experts from various industries globally, is committed to making a difference. From our initial surgical mission during the Syrian civil war, we have continued to mobilize teams multiple times a year, comprised of personnel from academic and hospital institutions worldwide.

In addition to our outreach missions, we provide sustainable healthcare solutions, medical education, and access to development opportunities. Through our global health partnerships, we offer virtual consulting, primary and secondary consultations, diagnosis, and referrals. Our growing network includes educators, healthcare providers, and professionals from leading institutions, both public and private, accelerating our mission to enable stakeholders in the healthcare and medical education sectors.

Furthermore, the Children of War Foundation has sponsored many individuals with life-threatening or complex ailments who lack access to care in their home countries. We oversee the legal necessities and arrangements, including working closely with our U.S. Embassy counterparts, to transport patients to the United States or partner health institutions in other regions. While candidates are assigned to a designated social worker/legal counsel for ongoing support and care, we are also actively involved in publishing many of our cases.

For cases where transportation to the U.S. is not feasible, we consider candidates for our international medical missions. During these missions, academically affiliated surgeons and support teams travel abroad to address multiple cases. Additionally, we actively refer children to other organizations and affiliates within our network for care in our absence. Alongside providing surgical care free of charge, we donate medical equipment, tools, and supplies, leaving behind sustainable resources for accredited facilities and medical education.

We are committed to providing opportunities for research, internships, mentoring, shadowing, and surgical fellowship training associated with academic and private institutions. Join us in making a difference by reaching out at info@cowf.org.

Through our collaborative efforts, we raise global awareness and visibility to regions in need, showcasing humanitarian collaboration as an advocate for health, education, inclusion, peace, solidarity, and hope. With a focus on empowering and inspiring individuals and underserved communities, we strive to create positive impact.

Our outreach and medical education initiatives have impacted regions including the Middle East, Nicaragua, Sudan, South Sudan, Yemen, Somalia, South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Israel, Philippines, Haiti, Chad, Mexico, Ghana, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Panama, India, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, and China.

The Children of War Foundation is a non-profit, non-religious, and non-politically affiliated organization. We provide access to education and healthcare for children and vulnerable communities, regardless of race, ethnicity, ability to pay, residence, nationality, or religion.

COWF Partnership with Invincikids

About the partnership:

COWF collaborates with a global network of healthcare partners to promote collaboration, innovation, and accessibility in healthcare worldwide. Through Invincikids, we increase access to immersive technologies for mental and physical pain management in children worldwide.

Background:

COWF partnered with Invincikids to improve access to immersive technologies for health and pain management in Jordan. Using VR headsets and programs supplied by Invincikids, COWF enhanced children's well-being in local communities.

Clinical Pain Management:

COWF implemented Invincikid's program for pediatric patients in Jordan receiving medical care. This helped address health risks and complications for Syrian refugees.

Mental Wellness for Children:

COWF introduced virtual reality therapies at their School of Dreams near the Syrian border to help children suffering from anxiety and stress in refugee encampments. The after-school program using VR headsets promoted emotional well-being and mindfulness.

Instructors provided students the opportunity to play VR games, reinforcing positive memories through group discussions with the students after completing the experience.
