  • Hashim sustained devastating burns, shrapnel, brain and skull injuries in his hometown of Baghdad in February 2010 from a roadside bomb. He was pulled from his family’s car and remained in the hospital for seventy days after the blast. In late August 2010, COWF and the MKI teamed up, managing to transport him and his mother to Los Angeles, via Jordan. Hashim began receiving long term surgical treatments at Children's Hospital LA in September 2010.  He spent over one year undergoing complex surgical care and rehabilitation in Los Angeles.  More information on Hashim can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXRYlDlToDwhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXRYlDlToDw
